Kratom

Kratom is a generally new drug in the United States. It has only recently been put on the market for people to use. Many people have misconceptions about the drug or simply do not know that much about it.

Kratom is an herbal drug that is often promoted in the United States as a psychoactive legal substance. The Mitragynine is the main active alkaloid that is responsible for the effects of Kratom. Mitragynine stimulates the activity in the brain like an opioid. It reduces pain response. When the active ingredients located in the drug Kratom reach the brain a person might feel an influenced mood as well as anxiety. Also, it has been proven to create a euphoric effect similar if someone were to use opium or heroin.

A person who uses Kratom will generally notice the effects beginning in about ten minutes. Small doses of Kratom can last for about two hours. However, higher doses are known to last up to eight hours.

For a person to have potent effects for about two hours usually the dosage is about four or five grams of Kratom. For a longer experience usually about seven or eight grams will create this effect. When a person consumes Kratom the peak of its effects will occur within an hour and a half to two and a half hours. Taken on an empty stomach the effects are going to be heightened. If you eat before taking the drug your effects may not kick in for an hour or two.

Drug Tests

Someone might be wondering how long this will stay in their system if they are going to be doing a drug test. However, Kratom does not show up on many traditional drug tests that are usually administered by employers. Since this is a relatively new drug, there is not much research as to what the half-life is. However, based on the research that has been done so far, the half-life is thought to be about 23 or 24 hours. Based on this information it would take a full day to eliminate half of the Kratom you have taken. It would take about five days for Kratom to be fully cleared from the body.

However, there are other components to keep in mind. If you are healthy or not. If you are not healthy and your body does not function properly it would take longer for the drug to be out of your system. Weight is also a huge component. If you are generally heavier than the drug will also last longer in your body. Age is also important. If you are younger and healthy the drug will be out of your body fast than someone who is older and has some health issues.
